Quickie

I'm moving this weekend, I'm training a new employee, I went mattress shopping tonight and learned a lot about mattresses -- namely, that I can't afford a new one, I'm tired, I'm worn out, but I'm in a GOOD MOOD for some reason. :)

Does anyone read Dan Harmon's blog? I REALLY hope his fucked-upness doesn't affect the new season of Community. OMG, he is the most emo person I've ever read. Well, actually scratch that -- there is one person on my flist I've referred to as Eeyore in my head for several years now -- but Dan Harmon takes the cake for being fucked-up AND self-aware. He's VERY aware of how fucked-up he is, which almost makes his stuff more painful to read.

Dear Dan Harmon, please cheer up. I know you don't think it's true, but you can CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. Now get your happy ass back to work writing my favorite show in the whole wide world!

OK, I'm going to go watch more Mad Men on Netflix.

Oh, and to the 3.7 people who read it, I'm going to have the last part of Traces posted by the end of the month. I'M BUSY. I'm sorry it's taken this long.

<3

Just throwing it out there...

Anyone else feel like Anthony Bourdain is just really effing lucky?

I mean, really.

Le Sigh Part 2.

You know that feeling when you've been looking forward to something for a long time -- like, I dunno, a vacation to your family's cottage on Lake Michigan, or perhaps the final film in a series that has been a part of your life since you were 12 years old, has led to you making incredible friends, falling in love for the first time, and enriched your love of literature -- and then it doesn't happen?

Yeah, I'm pretty much feeling that right now.

Wah wah wah. Me me me.Collapse )

You know, I'm not this emo in real life, I swear! Usually I am a happy, cheerful person. So I think I just get on here and vent because I don't really know you people and I don't feel as guilty about admitting these things to people I don't know. It's kinda nice.

Anyway. To all my HP friends, it's been quite a journey. And I know the last book has been out for years and we already know how it ends, but seeing it played out on the big screen is another thing entirely. We've watched the characters and actors grow before our eyes, and a lot of us have grown with them. We've learned to read and write and support each other and be a community because of these amazing books (and movies) and now it's all over. And it's sad. And I don't feel weird about being sad about it. It's the end of an era!

So I'm not sure whether to celebrate or commiserate. I'm up for either, truthfully. With any luck I'll be sneaking out of the hospital with my sister to see the final movie in Chicago. And that'll be a fun experience. But I'm sure as hell mourning the fact that I won't be lining up in the dark of the night, that air of anitcipation and nervousness and excitement all around, binding me to the people next to me.

Le sigh.

Traces: Part Six

Title: Traces (6/7)
Author: sowritesauds
Fandom: Community
Pairing/Characters: Group, Jeff/Annie
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4000
Summary: The group helps Jeff recover from an accident.
Author's Note: Sorry for the long wait between chapters -- I had a long visit from that a-hole Writer's Block. This one is a little dialogue-heavy, but I hope you like it. I'm working on the last chapter now!

Part Six: Link to Meta101

a.k.a Shirley Bennett from "Community." I... don't even know what to say about this. It's weird. But awesome. From weeks of watching her on Twitter, I can tell that YNB is like 95% enthusiastic sincerity. And I"m about 87.3% cynical wannabe comedian, so when I tweeted about her uncle being named Charlie Brown, I didn't even expect a reply; I probably should have known that she would not be like, "Yeah, isn't that hilarious tha this name was Charlie Brown?" Anyway, here it is!

Trying to decide if this is more or less random than the Dream Conversation I had with Joel McHale.Collapse )

Traces: Part Five

Title: Traces (5/?)
Author: sowritesauds
Fandom: Community
Pairing/Characters: Group, Jeff/Annie
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4600
Summary: The group helps Jeff recover from an accident.
Author's Note: Apparently taking a break from writing this next part is just what I needed. Inspiration struck me at work, so I stole a few minutes and finished up Part Five. I'm breaking my own rule and posting this before starting on Part Six... hopefully I'll get that part finished tonight. Un-Beta'd, so be kind!

Traces: Part Two

Title: Traces (1/?)
Author: [info]sowritesauds
Fandom: Community
Pairing/Characters: Group, Jeff/Annie
Rating: R
Word Count: 1600
Disclaimer: I don't own Community, unfortunately.
Summary: The group helps Jeff recover from an accident.
A/N: I am absolutely in love with the whole idea of Jeff taking care of Annie (especially in fics like the very NC-17 What Adults Do by [info]prettypepper  ) but I wanted to kind of try to turn the concept on its head a bit and see what would happen if Jeff was injured and helpless. I think this one's going to be a five-parter... not sure yet though. Just a little character study and slow build-up to set the stage for what's to come. :)
